Gaby and I were looking for a way to do business that benefits people and the environment in a sustainable way.  While living in Peru, we tried and tried different chocolates to find the best flavor with the Peruvian personality.  We found La Orquidea chocolates.

Production of this fine chocolate takes place near the fields where cacao is grown, allowing our producers to select the best cocoa beans from the local farmers.

Our beans come from Peru, and our chocolate is produced in Peru.  Producing our chocolates in Peru creates sustainable employment opportunities, which generate tax income to be used in the development of schools, roads, bridges, and medical facilities.

We also are concerned with the environment in the region.  With the purchase of our cordillera escalera chocolate, a portion of the proceeds goes to the conservation of forest where a wealth of biodiversity lives.

Our chocolates contain local ingredients such as kiwicha, quinoa, brazil nuts, and pecans.  Brazil nuts are native to the Amazon region and are a crop that has little impact on the rainforest.

We know that there are socially conscious people who understand the effects of their purchases.  You have the power to show that you value socially responsible business.
