There are many natural sites to see in the region. The Blue Lagoon really lets you relax and return to nature.  The natural jacuzzi and waterfalls in the region are beautiful and make a great day trip.  There is a great wildlife preserve that cares for monkeys, an amazon turkey, boar, birds, and really wild moths.   

Contact Martin Zamora for a tour of the region.  Martin speaks English but is willing to let you practice your Spanish.  He knows the names of birds in the region, and can take you off the beaten trail to see some of what it was like years ago in Peru.  The country side you travel through is an adventure in itself.
