 Cacao was named Theobroma Cacao by Carl Linnaeus, meaning 'food of the gods,' due to the goodness of its seeds. 

 

 What we do 

At Peruvian Chocolate we bring a chocolate that is produced by Peruvians from beans that were harvested by Peruvians.  Raw materials are transformed into a high quality chocolate, with the care and personal touch that comes with a hand made chocolate. 

Our farmers have received training organized by the factory to ensure proper fermentation of their cocoa beans.  Fermentation develops the flavors found in our beans while removing any bitterness naturally found in cacao.  We processes beans only as much as necessary to ensure the variety of flavors in the beans are preserved in our bars.
